INTEL: One of the Most Ludicrously Savage Hardware Caricature Companies of Recent Times
Under Pat Gelsinger’s leadership, Intel is falling behind AMD and further compounding their problems with questionable marketing strategies.
As an example of this, take the case of the company’s approach to semiconductor manufacturing, especially the claim that their 10nm process, achieved through “double stacking,” is equivalent to a 5nm process. Are the people at Intel unable to do simple math? In semiconductor manufacturing, “double stacking” involves vertically layering transistors or components, which theoretically reduces the area they occupy. However, this area reduction doesn’t directly translate to a reduction in process size. For instance, halving the area from 100 square nm to 50 square nm would result in a process closer to 7nm, not the 5nm claimed by Intel. How can Pat Gelsinger allow Intel to be caught in such a self-defeating marketing trap that directly benefits their AMD competitor? On the contrary, with such a flawed marketing approach, they are reinforcing the criticisms that claim that INTEL is stuck in a pile of technological stagnation shit.
Furthermore, if that weren’t enough, Intel is still grappling with legacy issues like the Spectre vulnerabilities. Addressing these vulnerabilities and ensuring robust security foundations is crucial. Intel must resolve firmware issues, protect against DMA attacks, SPI flash exploits, hardware glitches, and vulnerabilities to side-channel attacks, power analysis, and fault injections. These unresolved issues are critical for Intel to reinforce the reliability and security of their technological advancements, particularly in a market that NEEDS both innovation and security and not a pile of shitty buzzwords
